sand hollow

We went to St. George this past weekend with my parents and some cousins for a little boating trip to Sand Hollow. It was Beau’s first road trip and I was nervous he’d scream the entire way, but luckily leaving at 5am helped him sleep most of the drive. It was also his first time on a boat so I was nervous he would freak out that he had to wear a life jacket the entire time, but he LOVED it! My cousins have a baby boy the same age as B and it was so cute to see them walk around the boat in their tiny life jackets. It was such a great trip and I’m sad that it’s already over. The only thing that didn’t go as planned was that Blake lost his wedding ring in the lake after a hard crash on the wake skate, so we are getting him a new one today. We were both so sad! Now here is a photo overload of our trip.

11251016_1670562649821973_1652056316_nI just have to tell you about my sunglasses because I’m obsessed with them. Like my Blake is so sick of me talking about them, haha. I have been wanting these pair forever, but I just really didn’t want to spend that on glasses. I would have felt so guilty, especially while we are building a home. So I found these and I swear they look practically identical to the Dior ones. Right? I am in love with them!

Have a happy Monday, and thanks for reading!

wednesday’s with beau

While at a family birthday party in Tooele, Beau enjoyed some time on the swings. He was loving playing in the dirt and exploring outside with his little cousins! And I really just can’t get over him in those cowboy boots.

wednesday’s with beau- my blueberry boy

My baby is getting way too big you guys!! He is starting to say a few words now and it is to die for. His words include: mama, dada, papa, baba, no, bsshhh (this means bird), dahh (dog), bye bye, and num num. And when he says “num num” he usually means give me blueberries because the boy is obsessed! Seriously he could eat an entire Costco size container if I let him (at least they’re healthy right?). He always gets them all over his face which is kind of the cutest.

^^Isn’t his hair hysterical?^^

^^He is so bugged by how many times I kiss him! Can’t stop, won’t stop.^^

I have some fashion, fitness, and even a recipe post coming up soon, stay tuned.  Thanks for reading!

paddle boarding!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Ours was so busy with a lot of different activities on both sides of the family. I have quite a bit of family in Stansbury and Tooele, so we headed down there to spend some time at Stansbury lake on Saturday. We rented some paddle boards and kayaks and had the best time! I always thought paddle boarding looked so fun but wasn’t sure how steady I’d be and assumed I’d for sure tip right over. Thankfully I discovered it’s much easier than it looks and it’s even more fun than I thought. The weather was perfect, the water was too, and Beau loves anything where he can be wet and splash around!

We are really loving this summer and making the most of being outside in the warmth! And I have to say that having a one year old has made this summer the best I’ve had yet. He is just too fun! How have you guys been spending the summer?

Thanks for reading! Picture overload below…..

^^We clearly tuckered him right out!^^

weekend love.

Happy weekend! Today is a holiday in Utah so my Blake gets an extra day off, hooray! Our weekend will be spent with family, a date with friends, and maybe catching a movie. These photos are from the 4th of July but since today is a holiday where fireworks are involved I figured a little red, white, and blue wouldn’t hurt. I sure love my boys!

^^This video sounds weird because of the slow motion, but I just can’t get over his face in it!!^^

Have the best weekend! Thank you for reading, it means so much to me!

wednesday’s with beau- beach baby

Yesterday we went to Yuba lake with my in-laws family. I’d never been before and I was pleasantly surprised at the sandy beach and clear water. We had a blast! I took so many pictures so sorry for the photo album below. It was Beau’s first time at a beach and he loved it! I think he was confused by the sand at first but he warmed up and had so much fun! The water was soooooo cold and I am the biggest wimp but, I did manage to force my way in and do a little slalom skiing. It was so nice taking a mid-week break for some family beach time. It ended way too soon!

wednesday’s with beau

I feel like every time I do my weekly baby post we are always in bed! I swear we really do more than lay in bed all day. He’s just so snuggly and playful in the mornings so I always try to keep that as long as possible before venturing out for the day.

I have a big passion for running and like to take Beau along if I’m not going too far. We went up to our favorite park the other day and took a long walk/jog. That boy loves being outside! Last summer he was a newborn so he didn’t get to experience summer the way it should be, but now we are taking full advantage! Next week we are going to Yuba lake with Blake’s family which I am so excited for. I haven’t been to Lake Powell in like 10 years (it’s a crime really) and I have been dying to get in some kind of lake! Or at least sit on a beach a look at one.

A few photos….

wednesday’s with beau

This is my baby posing. He is the fattest ham around and I LOOVE those thighs of his. I mean look at that hip pop. ^^^

The mornings are some of my favorite times with my baby Beau. We like to eat cereal together, read books, and play in bed. He loves to jump and climb in the pillows and giggle like crazy!

When I wake up in the morning my natural instinct is to grab my phone and check my email, or instagram, or look at the blogs that I follow and  get too caught up in all of the stuff online. The other day Beau walked over to his shelf and grabbed a book while I was doing something on my phone before it hit me. I am missing some of the sweet new things that he’s doing. He learns so much every day and to see him discover new things and say new words is what I live for! It’s easy to get sucked into cyberspace, but I remind myself often that I need to just be available in the moment. I did however have to grab my phone to snap these pictures because, seriously. he kills me.

wednesday’s with beau

Every morning I barely open my eyes just enough to see the figure of my Blake quietly getting ready for work so as not to wake me. He always sneaks out and I always fall back asleep. But in those little moments where my eyes are slightly open I always think how lucky I am to get to stay home with my baby. Not just because I get to sleep later… no really. It’s because I’m grateful that my Blake works so hard so that I can stay home. Not every mom gets that chance and I feel blessed every minute that I do.

Right now Beau is in the ‘let’s knock all of the yogurt out of your hand and onto every single surface’ phase. He also loves to eat from others plates way more than his own, even if he’s eating the same thing. He gets into everything, climbs every surface, and insists on messes everywhere. My job of motherhood is my favorite I’ve ever had. Nothing will ever beat the slobbery smiles, the babbles, his enormous lips, or the rare moment when he will pause and let me squeeze him and snap a picture. After I took these two he gave me a big open mouth kiss (with teeth) and wiggled away. Nothing beats a toothy kiss.

hoses are for swimming and drinking.

This summer has been my baby’s first time swimming. He has loved the pool but, I think he may like the hose even more. The fact that it’s the temperature of an icicle doesn’t bother him in the slightest! Plus he learned he can drink the hose, but the pool is off limits for drinking. Oh how I love that sweet milky white chub of mine.
