My friend took this candid of my baby during a photo shoot last week. I love his messy hair, sweet face, big lips and big brows. He is most certainly my baby boy with those eyebrows. I look at photos of him like this and it’s hard to believe he can ever be so naughty. Yesterday morning I put him in his highchair for breakfast and started putting his fruit in little pieces on the tray. He looked at me like “Are you kidding me? I’m not eating this fruit.” and he promptly made a windmill with his arms and made sure every last piece was on the floor. I tried setting a few teddy grahams on the floor after pulling him out of his chair for him to eat at his own pace and he immediately got on his car and rode over them smashing them into tiny crumbs. I was ready to throw him out the window! Later that day I kissed his face as I always do and usually he squirms away but this time he kissed my cheek and made a “mua” sound. He is an unpredictable firecracker and I love him.

So here’s to Friday and to making it a wonderful weekend with lots of relaxation. And hopefully in my case more baby kisses and less food on my floor.

One of Beau’s favorite spots in our house is on the bottom stairs. He loves to play with his cars and get his eyes right on their level so he can see every detail. He gets very focused and I just know his imagination is going wild with all those cars. I love to sit with him and watch him play and hear all the words he says. This boy is saying literally EVERYTHING. He is a parrot and can say practically any word. His pronunciation is the craziest to me because I can understand everything too. Yesterday I was doing his hair and saying “mama has to put some product in your hair.” And he instantly says “product, product!” And I’m telling you he said it perfect. It’s so wonderful to watch him learn and grow. I am amazed how smart he is! Maybe it’s because he’s my only one and I don’t know how babies are “supposed” to be. But to me he is so smart and grown up and it makes me so happy/breaks my heart at how big he is getting. I am soaking in every moment I get each day because it’s gone so fast. Even when he is the naughtiest. And he can be an absolute terror! He turns sweet the next second, like a sour patch kid. And really that’s exactly what he is. My sour patch baby.

These two boys of mine are the best Valentines I could ever dream of. I don’t talk enough on this blog about my Blake and just how magnificent he is. So I’m just going to brag about him and how lucky I am that he chose me. He is the BEST dad! It just comes naturally to him. He is Beau’s favorite person in the world by far, and I totally get it because he’s one of mine too. Blake puts Beau down for bed every single night with a Coldplay song and a little rocking. Each night Beau will finish his bottle and say “song?” while he reaches for his dad. It’s their bonding time that I know they both cherish. I love how they love each other. Another thing I love about my husband is that he is my perfect opposite. He is mellow and easy going. I am more stressed, worry prone, and dare I say a wee bit high maintenance? I say medium but he thinks high. He is supportive and always puts my needs before his. I mean this guy is letting me put a  huge hot pink rug in our living room! He is hardworking, witty, an instagram husband, handsome, and the love of my life.

This week my sweet niece turned 8 years old and wanted to go skiing for her big day, so we took Beau along for his first time on the slopes! My parents bought these baby skis when my niece Kennedy was just a baby and she absolutely HATED them! I was happy to discover that Beau loved them so much and couldn’t get enough of being dragged around by my parents and me. While my 2 nieces were in a ski school class, Beau and his cousin Nixon took turns on the ski’s and playing in the snow. It was such a great day with sunny weather! I’m sure this will be the first of many ski trips now that we know how much he loves it. Plus I just can’t resist my little snow bunny in all his ski gear!

Are you sick of seeing pictures of my baby yet? #sorrynotsorry. This week has already gone smoother than last week which we are so very grateful for! With the exception of……..I made stir fry for dinner last night which for me is kind of a big deal seeing as I don’t really cook. And we discovered Beau LOVES broccoli. Both Blake and I were cheering him on with each bite because, are you kidding me, our baby likes broccoli? So there I was just giving him bite after bite all the while being impressed that this pop tart loving baby is happily eating vegetables. A few hours after we put him to bed the screaming started which is just so out of the ordinary for him. No fever, no wet diaper, it was a sick belly from all the broccoli! I could tell from the weird thrashing he was doing plus not being able to get comfortable. He finally fell asleep around 4:30 in the morning. Ugh. I felt so horrible and cursed the broccoli for giving him a belly ache. The only vegetable he enjoys made him scream and thrash all night, plus it made us all tired the next day. I guess I’m going to stick to pop tarts.
