a campout

You guys I survived camping! And I actually had a good time which is the greater miracle. We went with some wonderful friends and enjoyed time away from phones, and all other distractions. It was surprisingly nice! Honestly I enjoy sitting around the fire and roasting marshmallows. I just hate the smoke smell, the dirtiness, the peeing in the woods, sleeping on the ground, and cleaning up camp part. ha! Plus Beau just kept trying to eat every rock he saw so I had to chase him around to stop him every few seconds! This was our first time camping with a baby and I was expecting it to be horrible, especially the sleeping part. Unfortunately I wasn’t wrong about that. We slept in the back of our big SUV with pads and lots of blankets but we still hardly slept a wink and we were freezing the whole night. My poor baby was so mad! So besides the horrible night, it was a success. After we got home and washed our hair 6 times we went to bed at 8:00 and slept until 8:30 the next morning!

Of course I took a million pictures and am now about to overload you with them. Don’t we look outdoorsy?!

Can you even believe how many pictures that was? Sorry but when you go camping once in a blue moon you have to document it.

Thank so much for reading! Have a happy Monday!

the most delicious thing i’ve ever worn

This week I’ve been sharing fitness tips. So I thought it only appropriate to wear one of my favorite shirts ever that goes against fitness and healthy eating because it’s the weekend and we all deserve a little indulgence! Who doesn’t love basically everything written on this shirt? I hope you guys have a great weekend! I am going camping…. I am not a camper in the slightest! I really don’t enjoy it all that much but sometimes you have to compromise with your husband and take one for the team. It’s only one night and I’m sure it will be lots of fun. I just am the kind of girl who really loves sleeping indoors with plumbing and electricity ;). If you want to see my camping adventures you can follow along on my instagram. Am I the only one who doesn’t like camping? I guess I’d just rather snuggle up in bed and watch Pretty Little Liars all weekend long, ha!

wednesday’s with beau- gym baby

Besides running, one of my favorite things to do to stay in shape is strength training. I love lifting weights, sometimes just using my own body weight, or using my huge chubby baby as my weight. I always try to get my workout in when Beau is taking his nap. However, sometimes he naps for 30 minutes and sometimes he’s out for 3 hours. Totally unpredictable! So if by chance he took a horribly short nap, or I have too much to get done during his nap that trumps exercise, I bring him along with me! Now I am super lucky that my parents have a full commercial gym in their home so I never have to pay for a membership anywhere, nor do I have to travel to get there (we’re living with them until our home is built). I know I’m so spoiled! Here are a few of the exercises I do within the week. I always try to hit each muscle group 2x per week.

Remember that I am no professional and every body is different. My mom has been a personal trainer for years and has taught me lots along the way. There are so many great ways to stay fit inside and outside of a gym but these are just a selection of some of my favorite exercises. If you have any questions about anything make sure you ask in the comments! What do you guys like to do for exercise?

13.1 miles

Happy Monday! This week I’m focusing on fitness since it’s one of my biggest passions. Running is one of my favorite ways to stay in shape and also relax my mind! Over the weekend I ran a half marathon with my sister and some friends. It was hard but also so much fun! For me half marathons are the perfect distance. Enough to be a challenge, but not so much as a full marathon (they are painful for me!) The course for the race was about 80% downhill so that helped me to get my fastest time I’ve ever had. I pushed it so hard that I can seriously hardly walk today! I think I’m ready to take a little break from long distance running for the year!

Processed with VSCOcam with hb2 presetProcessed with VSCOcam with hb2 preset^^The night before my race I of course had to eat a TON of Thai food, and ice cream.^^

Processed with VSCOcam with hb2 presetI am so grateful to have the best support team. My parents never miss a race, and my Blake and baby are always at the finish line cheering me on. It’s also the best to have a sister to do all these races with! Have a great Monday, thanks for reading!

a weekend race

Friday!! This week went by really quickly for me. I think it may be because I’m running a half marathon tomorrow and I always get a little antsy before a race. So tonight my Blake, my Beau, and I are going to eat Thai food and ice cream to get me all carbo loaded before I head to bed at 8:30 on a Friday night. While I do get a little nervous before I run long distance, and it’s hard waking up at 4am for races, I really love to run. It’s one of my biggest passions, and it helps me relieve stress! The rest of my weekend I plan on relaxing and hopefully taking a nap at some point.

And here are some pictures of my babe and me as if you don’t ever get your fill of those. Have a happy weekend guys, eat lots of good food and do something fun!

wednesday’s with beau

Wednesday posts are always dedicated to my Beau. And so more sleeping pictures of my baby because I just can’t get over it. When he falls asleep in my bed I just have to sit and stare, because nothing else matters in the world. He is learning so many things, and saying words, understanding small bits and pieces of what I’m saying to him. And it’s amazing to see him grow and change. And it’s also sad to watch the time pass by and see my baby turn into a big boy. He is curious and loves mischief of one kind and another. Loves to say “no” and then do it anyway because it makes him giggle. And every mess he makes, and things he destroys seem to vanish when he clings to my legs to be held.

I am lucky to be his mama.

Thanks for reading friends! See more of my baby (as if you don’t already!) and daily life by following along here!

ps. Next week’s posts are all my fitness/workout tips and tricks so let me know if you want anything specific!

sand hollow

We went to St. George this past weekend with my parents and some cousins for a little boating trip to Sand Hollow. It was Beau’s first road trip and I was nervous he’d scream the entire way, but luckily leaving at 5am helped him sleep most of the drive. It was also his first time on a boat so I was nervous he would freak out that he had to wear a life jacket the entire time, but he LOVED it! My cousins have a baby boy the same age as B and it was so cute to see them walk around the boat in their tiny life jackets. It was such a great trip and I’m sad that it’s already over. The only thing that didn’t go as planned was that Blake lost his wedding ring in the lake after a hard crash on the wake skate, so we are getting him a new one today. We were both so sad! Now here is a photo overload of our trip.

11251016_1670562649821973_1652056316_nI just have to tell you about my sunglasses because I’m obsessed with them. Like my Blake is so sick of me talking about them, haha. I have been wanting these pair forever, but I just really didn’t want to spend that on glasses. I would have felt so guilty, especially while we are building a home. So I found these and I swear they look practically identical to the Dior ones. Right? I am in love with them!

Have a happy Monday, and thanks for reading!

our week in photos.

It’s Friday! We are headed off to St. George to spend the weekend boating at Sand Hollow. We are driving down at like 4am in hopes that Beau will sleep the entire drive. Cross your fingers for me! Here is a little roundup of this weeks photos…

^^Beau came in my bed one morning and fell back asleep which NEVER happens, so this was like the best thing ever. I was lucky to catch the process of him waking up in photos. Seriously that hair! He is sleeping in a zipadee-zip suit and it has seriously been the best thing in our lives. He loves it and stays asleep and warm the entire night. If you have a baby you NEED one.^^

^^^In the afternoons we like to play outside and jump on the tramp, or shoot hoops. He is soooo tall so I like to prepare him for a basketball career early ;)^^^

^^Testing out his new life jacket in the garage. He loved it, hallelujah.^^

11821243_1661730187383649_1102621398_n^^If you follow me on Instagram then you saw this photo already. He fell asleep in the car on the way to Costco and stayed that way the entire time. For him this is unheard of! It sure was sweet, but wow were my arms ready to fall off after 20 min!^^

I hope you all have the best weekend! I so appreciate my readers who support this blog, I love reading each comment. Thank you!

wednesday’s with beau

While at a family birthday party in Tooele, Beau enjoyed some time on the swings. He was loving playing in the dirt and exploring outside with his little cousins! And I really just can’t get over him in those cowboy boots.

the easiest and most delicious cookie. ever.

So let me start this post by saying I am in no way a domestic goddess in the kitchen. I don’t really love to cook or bake however, there is this cookie recipe that I’ve been making for years that is my jam. I am professional at making these and only these. The reason why is because they are the easiest, have hardly any ingredients, and are ready in no time. Plus they’re gluten free which is a necessity for a celiac like me. I’m not exaggerating when I say I make these once a week!

^^^Ingredients you’ll need^^^

1 cup of brown sugar

1 cup of peanut butter

1 tsp baking soda

1 egg

chocolate chips (as many as you want. So, a lot. I like to mix milk and white chocolate.)

^^Mix together brown sugar, baking soda, and the egg until it looks like this above.^^

^^^then add peanut butter^^^

^^mix together and add chocolate chips. Now you have the most delicious dough. It is highly recommended that you eat a good portion of dough before baking (duh). I used to make these with my old roommate, sometimes she’d make them without me. But she ALWAYS left me a scoop of the dough in a tupperware in the fridge for when I got home. It’s THAT good!^^

^^^Spray a cookie sheet and bake for 8 min on 350. They may seem like they’re not finished after 8 minutes, but trust me they are. Let them cool and enjoy! SIDE NOTE: These are much better when they’re cold. I always put them in the fridge or freezer before eating and store them in the fridge for later. It’s personal preference really, but honestly they are just better that way.^^^

Try them and let me know if you like them! This is probably the only recipe I’ll ever share on this blog. If you want good recipe’s you need to visit my favorite food blog here! Happy Monday, now go make some cookies!
