While one of my dearest friends was in town visiting, we took advantage of her photography skills to snap a few of my babe and I in the fall weather. I am in love with all of these which is obvious since I posted a million. I couldn’t narrow it down! How was your weekend? We did a little shopping at Gap for Beau since they were having an amazing 40% off everything sale. Now it’s back to the busy week once again. a home in the making.

Here’s a few progress pictures of our house, well mainly the kitchen I guess. It’s so exciting to think we’ll be living there soon! We are supposed to close by the end of the month and I can hardly wait!! Oh and in the top picture I am wearing this lipstick in the color homegirl. If you’re in to dark lips, you NEED it. Have such a wonderful weekend filled with all of your favorite things! I am going to visit my friend who just had twins!! I’m so excited to hold newborn babies again. I’m also hoping to get in a nap or two since daylight savings time really messes up Beau’s schedule. Having him wake up at 5:45 is starting to kill me! Happy happy Friday, thanks for reading!

Over the weekend Beau didn’t sleep well which is unusual for him because he is a champ of a sleeper. Down around 8:30 and up around 7 every morning. So I knew when he woke up in the middle of the night he wasn’t feeling well. He was fevered and whiny for the next couple days. It was some hard core teething. In spite of all the fevers and tears there come lots of snuggles. Baby B slept in our bed for a few nights and just wanted to be held while he slept. For me it was heaven to hold my baby through the night like I did when he was a newborn. He’s so busy running around that he rarely has time for snuggles anymore. He is feeling back to his normal happy self and back in his crib. I miss having him right next to me! I know I’m biased but seriously this kids squishy lips are THEE BEST thing on the planet!

We had a blast this year for Halloween! Every year Blake’s family does a big Halloween party to which our costumes are never really that awesome. I came up with the idea of mime’s about a month ago and just thought it’d be easy and cheap. I’m not really one to spend lots of money on Halloween costumes and for this I just had to buy Blake a striped shirt, hats for the boys, and the makeup. Beau wasn’t so keen on the face paint when he saw us for the first time but he eventually warmed up and reluctantly allowed me to paint him too! He was the cutest and loudest mime you’ve ever seen and heard. I love Halloween even more now that we have our sweet babe to dress up. And I seriously can’t believe it’s been a year since his first Halloween as a shark #maketimestop. I’m sad the weekend went by far too quickly, but you guys my house is finished in one month!!! Can’t wait to share some pictures soon.

These pictures are from last year when my baby was only 4 months old and was the fattest dream you could imagine. We went to Disneyland last year for Halloween so Beau really wore 2 costumes. Mickey and a shark. I love Halloween with a baby to dress up! I can’t wait to show you our costumes for this year. Blake and I actually put effort into them which is huge for us!( last year we threw together a shark victim costume) I can hardly believe it’s been a year since these photos. My big chubby baby is turning into a big boy and it makes me ache.

wednesday’s with beau

This picture is from months ago when we were in our old house and Beau was so much younger. It’s one of my favorites that my Blake caught without me even realizing. Back then my baby would snuggle me for long periods of time and take naps on my chest. Now he is far too busy and only snuggles me when I’m feeding him his bottle before nap time. However, there are so many great things that come with him growing up. Here are some of his current favorite words!

jsss- (Jesus)

He also says mama, dada, go, and a few others. I swear he learns a new word every day. I also can’t wait to show you guys his Halloween costume! Since my last week was not one of my best I’ve had in a while I was really looking forward to this last weekend. Of course it went by so fast I can hardly believe it’s over! Our weekend was busy with a Costco trip, the mall, a few other random things, and celebrating my mother-in-law’s 70th birthday. We ended our Sunday night watching our favorite show “The Walking Dead” and I was so upset by the episode I bawled for about 10 minutes. Do any of you watch that show? I’m obsessed with it but I was really mad about last nights episode. So now I have a serious case of the Monday’s and am really hoping to make this week a great one filled with lots of laughs, and a well behaved baby! He is pretty much the dang cutest thing ever. He has so many new words and loves when I say ‘ready….set….’ so he can yell “GO!!” I tell you this stage is SOOOO FUN, and also SOOO hard.

We are really happy over here that it’s the weekend. It has really been a long week and we are ready for dad not to be at work! Baby B has definitely turned into a toddler and sure knows how to push mama’s buttons. He just loves to do whatever I say is a no no and then giggle like it’s the funniest to dump his cereal all over the floor. Sometimes I’m so ready to lose my cool and then he comes and gives me this enormous bear hug complete with a strong pat on the back and I’m all #thiskidkillsmeilovehimsomuch. He sure is mischievous but he knows how to make mama forget all about pulling every product out from under the sink with a toothy, slobbery grin.

These selfies are from us waiting to get my brows done. This babe gets dragged to my appointments against his will constantly 🙂 Have a great weekend! It’s finally feeling like fall here in Utah and I am happy about it!

Is it just me or has this week been soooooo long? For some reason I’ve had kind of a rough mama week where I feel like my little babe does the opposite of everything I say, has been refusing to snuggle me, and only wants his dad. I mean I totally get it, he wants his dad after being with me all day where it’s basically me chasing him and saying ‘no’ about a thousand times. Plus I know he gets real tired of all the kisses I sneak on him without his approval :). So here’s to the weekend coming quickly!

ps. I want to get your guys’ opinion on cameras. I feel like I should invest in a great camera so I can get more crisp images (right now I’m just using my iPhone). Plus I can do more/better outfit posts with a DSLR camera. This is the one I have my eye on since I’m not a professional photographer and am not ready to invest over a thousand bucks just yet. What are your thoughts? Do you think it’s necessary to have a nice camera? What camera and lens do you use?

I hope you guys had a great weekend! Ours was pretty wonderful besides that Beau threw his first HUGE tantrum last night. He of course has thrown little mini fits on occasion. But last night was full blown throwing himself on the ground and screaming like I’ve NEVER heard him scream. It was awful! Blake and I tried our best to calm him but we felt like the worst parents in the world in that moment. He finally calmed down after I rocked him outside and sang to him. And all of it was over him getting a water bottle taken away after he tried to dump it all over the floor. Sheesh! Being a parent is so hard sometimes. I know Beau will thrown more tantrums but this one was so bad that it scared me. He is usually such an easy going baby but I’m afraid we may be starting terrible two’s really early. Ahhhh!!! Anyway, have a wonderful Monday! We are on our way to Costco. Cross your fingers he won’t have a repeat of last night for me!
